Finally finished swatching my polishes for now! So far, I’ve swatched 100 polishes.There’s about 20-30 I haven’t done so far, but I’ll leave that for when I have more time again. :)
In case you were wondering, I got these swatching sticks from Born Pretty Store. They come in packs of 40 here, and they come in really handy when you try to organise your collection, keep track of the colours you already have and stuff.
I really wanted to call these “Chalkboard Nails” because one of the polishes is called “Chalk Dust” and because that way I could totally make this about the amzing blog Chalkboard Nails (Chalkboard Nails on Tumblr). Go check it out, there’s some really amazing nail art and stuff!
So yeah, these nails really look more like pavement or gravel. I used a coat of Maybelline’s “Chalk Dust” over China Glaze “Stone Cold” and then mattified them. Don’t they work well together?
Swatch!
Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots in “Chalk Dust”. One layer over Pupa “Holographic Denim Blue” (which is still my favourite nail polish ever!). I wasn’t sure what to expect when I bought it but I actually really like it. I think it would look great over any colour, but would give a great marble effect over grey. And I really want to try it in matte sometime.
Slowly but surely I’m getting around swatching my polishes! I haven’t done all of them yet, but I think I’m getting close. Can you tell I like blue? ;-)

Here’s both hands - the same design but in different colours. I actually did the same thing with a different design ages ago (here, here and here), and I’m going to ask you the same question I asked then: Which do you prefer, reds or blues?
And here’s my right hand right now! Again, funky pointy finger shape and unwillingness to go looking for polish names, but there ya go. :)
I actually saw this design recently here (done by Michelle Humphrey from nailsbymh) and it really made me want to do it. Her’s are a lot neater than mine though. :)
I know I said I probably wasn’t going to post for ages, but in what can only be described as pre-exam procrastination eternal devotion to my followers, I painted my nails today!You can tell my pointy finger is in a weird shape due to it breaking recently, but oh well. Here’s a zig zag pattern on my left hand right now.
If you want to know what polishes I used please ask, I can’t be bothered with putting them up right now - yay lazy me. :p
